Octave Marsal

French artist Octave Marsal has been designing Hermès scarves for ten years. He has also directed animated films for Universal and Apple TV.

Born in 1990, Octave Marsal creates complex, imaginary, or revisited drawings, where styles and motifs intertwine, inviting the viewer on a dreamlike and meditative journey.

Trained in London, notably at the Royal College of Art, architecture and design are at the heart of his artistic practice. Octave Marsal's art is rich in architectural elements and minute details that invite careful observation, blurring the lines between perception and sensation.

"In my work, space and time are the foundations of my approach, in a certain quest for utopia. Inspired by architectural masters such as Palladio, Piranesi, and Frank Gehry, as well as by the engravings of Albrecht Dürer and Andô Hiroshige, I create vast imaginary cities and spaces. Drawing on architectural motifs from all eras, I bring to life a unique utopian world."
