A marine touch in your interior thanks to whale posters
Throughout the 19th century, the whale was the object of myths and covetousness.Charles Melville Scammonwas both a whaler and a naturalist, so he hunted and studied whales, especially those he was lucky enough to encounter in North America. While our societies today protect whales, the profession of whaler was still very recent and innovative at the time of Scammon: it was also considered a way to better understand this animal, both majestic and frightening. Thanks to Scammon's many studies, we were able to understand, for example, the difference between blue whales, humpback whales and sperm whales.
To expose all his discoveries,Charles Melville Scammonpublished in 1872 a work entitled Natural History of Cetaceans and Other Marine Mammals of the West Coast of North America. It is the precious illustrations of this work that we have brought to light here: you will discover black and white sketches full of details that honor the majesty of sperm whales, brush whales, right whales and of course blue whales.

However, this visual impression represents the original grain of the image, which is precisely what gives the poster all its authenticity!
All illustrations are also printed on 220g cream laid paper which ensures your posters optimal durability and a unique rendering.whale postersare available in three sizes: 30x40cm (x3), 50x70cm (x3) and 60x80cm (x3).
