The Babar poster: immerse yourself in the wonderful story of an iconic elephant

If there is one elephant that we all know, it is of course Babar. Imagined by Cécile de Brunhoff, Babar was then illustrated by her husbandJean de Brunhoffbefore appearing as an album in 1932, in a book entitled Histoire de Babar.
In truth, the adventures of the elephant really begin when Cécile de Brunhoff sits down in the evening with her children to tell them stories. Among the latter is that of an elephant who flees the forest to escape a hunter and finds himself in a town where he then begins to dress like a human. Babar, thus discovering the benefits of civilization, is crowned king of the elephants!
Babar's albums were incredibly successful, so much so that nearly 4 million copies were sold before 1939! The elephant is so universally appreciated that even the nursery of the Normandy liner is decorated with original drawings ofJean de Brunhoff. Consecration was officially achieved in 2006 when Babar entered the prestigious collections of the National Library of France.
