Ugo Gattoni – Official Posters Paris 2024

Ugo Gattoni is a French illustrator born in Paris in 1988, known for his vibrant, colorful, and surrealist style. A graduate in visual communication, he initially pursued a career in competitive swimming before turning to illustration and large-format art, where he blends Parisian landscapes, dreamlike details, and animated scenes. Passionate about the capital, he draws it from every angle, capturing the energy and diversity of its inhabitants.

For the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Ugo Gattoni was chosen to create the two official posters, which have become iconic images worldwide. His illustration, a true contemporary fresco, depicts the Eiffel Tower, the Place du Trocadéro, and Haussmann-style buildings, populated by an enthusiastic crowd in a vibrant yet uncluttered setting. His style, rich in detail and references, celebrates sport, Paris, and popular festivities.

Ugo Gattoni, the cartoonist who tells stories

With a degree in visual communication, Ugo Gattoni didn't seem destined to become an artist. In fact, the illustrator began his career in a very different way, studying sports while training as a swimmer.
On his mother's advice, he eventually joined an art school to become an art director, which he was passionate about and which sparked his calling. Gradually, the young artist specialized in large formats. He created frescoes on rolls several meters long, mixing realistic scenes and imaginary details. A Parisian by birth, he admits to admiring the capital and having drawn it many times. He even stated, on the official Olympic Games website, that he had photographed a Haussmann-style balcony hundreds of times in order to produce a drawing that respected both the perspective and his style.

His passions for art and sport made Ugo Gattoni the ideal candidate to compose.the official poster of the Olympic Gamesand the Paralympic Games of Paris 2024. The young illustrator created an illustration now known worldwide, depicting both the Eiffel Tower, the Place du Trocadéro and Haussmannian buildings, populated by a crowd of enthusiastic characters in a very colorful but never overloaded setting. A particular style recognizable among a thousand, associated with one of the biggest sporting events on the planet.
