Poster Babar goes shopping
Babar and Celeste are on vacation and are doing their shopping. This illustration is from the album "Babar and the Four Thieves," published in 1979. The famous character was conceived by Cécile de Brunhoff when she told stories to her children at night, and later her husband Jean brought the little elephant to life by illustrating the very first album of Babar's adventures for their children. Their son, Laurent, then took over from his father and illustrated the following albums.
