Poster Babar goes shopping

Babar and Céleste are on vacation and doing their shopping. This illustration is taken from the album "Babar and the Four Thieves", published in 1979. The famous character was imagined by Cécile de Brunhoff when she told stories to her children in the evening, and later her husband Jean brought the little elephant to life by illustrating the very first album of Babar's adventures for their children. It was then their son, Laurent, who took over from his father and illustrated the following albums.
