Air France Legend Collection: Discover the posters by Jean Doré featuring Canada!

At the beginning of the 20th century, as air travel developed increasingly, major companies like Air France gained notoriety and opened themselves up to an ever-wider clientele. To attract people taking their first paid holidays, they commissioned talented illustrators to create advertising images, which were displayed in travel agencies. These posters invited escape and depicted distant lands, particularly exotic for the French of the time, who rarely left the country.

These posters trace the history of the Air France company.Over time, they retain a timeless charm, bearing witness to a period when traveling literally meant embarking on an adventure. To protect these artistic creations and attest to their authenticity, all reproductions offered by Oneart feature a dry stamp mentioning Air France's ownership.

Fly to Canada with Oneart

To enrich its catalog of posters from the Air France Legend collection, Oneart has selected the advertisement created by the illustrator Jean Doré in 1951. It depictsa typical North American landscape, featuring a dark pine forest, crossed by a wide river, on which a wooden raft floats. Behind the treetops, a high snow-capped mountain stands out. This wild landscape is overflown by an airplane. The image is above all striking because of its graphic style: the foliage is drawn geometrically, made of triangles and lines. This technique is reminiscent of early 20th-century Cubism, which here seems modernized through the use of colors and the final result, much less abstract than in the works of the first artists of this movement.

Jean Doré's poster promoting Air France flights to Canada is available at Oneart in three sizes.
