On the occasion of Georges Mathieu's retrospective exhibition "Gesture, Speed, Movement" at the Monnaie de Paris, Air France is reissuing a unique collection of posters created by the artist in 1967.
These unprecedented reproductions are the result of meticulous work that lasted over six months. It is a collaboration between the Georges Mathieu Committee, Air France teams, as well as artisan printers, screen printers, and color experts. Many combined skills were used to reproduce the original posters thanks to today's printing techniques.

This is a high-definition offset print on 250g/m2 matte paper, enriched with a custom-made direct ink to obtain a deep and velvety black. The application of a glossy selective varnish catches the light on key areas without altering the ink's hue, for a visual rendering faithful to the original prints.

Georges Mathieu (1921–2012) was a French painter considered one of the founders of lyrical abstraction, a movement advocating spontaneity and gesturality in artistic creation.
In 1967, he created a series of posters for Air France, marking a bold encounter between art and advertising. These posters, where his bursts of color and calligraphic forms convey the energy of travel and the modernity of air transport, are distinguished by their expressive power.
Through this collaboration, Mathieu helped introduce abstract art into the world of visual communication, giving the Air France brand an avant-garde and cultural image.
