This 1955 advertising poster, created by Swiss graphic designer Erik Nitsche , showcases the American company General Dynamics , specializing in aeronautics and defense. The illustration, titled "Atoms for Peace," was created for the first International Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy, held in Geneva from August 8 to 20, 1955. Nitsche, as General Dynamics' art director, designed a series of posters to promote the technological advancements of the time, reflecting the optimism and faith in science characteristic of the 1950s.
