Roland-Garros 2005 poster by Jaume PLENSA
For Roland-Garros 2005, Jaume Plensa created a bold and controversial black and white poster, a first in the tournament's history. The Catalan artist pays homage to the North in contrast to the light of his native Catalonia, inscribing a text inspired by Rabelais on the canvas, where tennis only appears subtly. The work questions the duality between day and night, past and present, and invites reflection on the cultural roots of tennis.
Fine art edition poster printed on Fedrigoni paper 200g
