Reproduction of a Japanese print by the artist Watanabei Seitei (1851-1918). He is a nihonga painter and one of the first Japanese artists to travel to Europe. In particular, he visited the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878 and received a distinction there. Seitei blended Western realism with the delicate colors and shades of the Maruyama-Shijō school, introducing a new approach to kachō-ga (pictures of birds and flowers).
