About the artist
American artist Adam Braly Janes primarily creates installations and sculptural creations, but drawing continues to be an integral part of his artistic practice. His work is in the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and the collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. During the pandemic, Adam Janes migrated his drawing practice to the tablecloth on his dining room table. At this location, his works become collaborative and welcome the drawings and graffiti of his guests.
His paintings are generally composed of several layers which are superimposed on each other: a collaborative preparatory layer which constitutes the back canvas of the painting on which the artist and the guests draw and affix graffiti, a second linen canvas on which the artist draws the bodies of the athletes represented in these posters.
