2023 Roland-Garros magnet by Maxime VERDIER

The official 2023 Roland-Garros poster, created by French artist Maxime Verdier, stands out for its dreamlike atmosphere and the fact that it was created entirely in colored pencil, a first in the tournament's history. Titled "Land of Stars," this poetic work depicts a young girl, racket in hand, contemplating a horizon bathed in light in front of the Philippe-Chatrier court. The deep sky, dotted with tennis balls as stars, evokes the magic of the tournament, the passion of the spectators, and the inspiration of young players dreaming of Roland-Garros. The artist leaves room for the imagination: is the scene set at dawn or dusk? Is this a future champion or a child dreaming of setting foot on the clay? Through this drawing, Maxime Verdier pays tribute to the universal and inspiring dimension of the tournament, while highlighting the architectural beauty of the central court and the brilliance of the Parisian Grand Slam.
