Rediscover the world of Babar with our Laurent de Brunhoff posters
If the name Laurent de Brunhoff does not necessarily seem familiar at first glance, his favorite character has most certainly accompanied your childhood. In 1937, the illustratorJean de Brunhoffdied suddenly without having had time to finish the graphic design of a character imagined by his wife, an elephant in a green suit. His son, Laurent, then naturally took over to bring Babar and his family to life. At the end of the 1940s, this cartoonist popularized the character and illustrated his adventures in 19 albums, published between 1946 and 2017. All have since been published by Hachette Jeunesse. Babar therefore represents the fruit of a family history, created by the mother, sketched by the father and popularized by the son, to the great delight of many children who grew up with him.
If this elephant in a green suit often rekindles a certain nostalgia in adults, the illustrations taken from the Babar albums always convey just as much joy and amusement.Babar rides a bike with Arthur, goes on a family adventure, goes ice skating…posters by Laurent de Brunhoffare ideal for brightening up a child's bedroom, an office or even a living room or lounge.
