1996 Roland-Garros magnet by Jean-Michel MEURICE

Sale price€9,00

The official 1996 Roland-Garros poster, created by Jean-Michel Meurice, honors the clay court through a composition where ochre and white dialogue to restore all the vitality of the central court. The artist is fond of using plant forms and creates here extremely light imprints using laurel leaf stencils, a symbol of the winner's crown. The white traces, like stigmas left by the players' footsteps, punctuate the surface of the court and recall the dynamics of the game. The net, a central element, plays a double role: white, it delimits each side; ochre, it blends into the clay, erasing the separation at the end of the duel. This poetic and symbolic work reflects the spirit of Roland-Garros, between tradition, nature, and competition.
